Russia and the USA discuss the mixed flights to the ISS on "Unions" and the ships of NASA - RIA Novosti, 9/14/2018

The STAR CITY (Moscow region), 14 Sep — RIA Novosti. Russia and the USA discuss an opportunity to continue flights of international crews after new American spaceships begin to fly to the International Space Station, the chief of the Center of Training of Astronauts (CTA) of Gagarin Pavel Vlasov has told journalists. Now the only country which is carrying out delivery of crews to the ISS is Russia. "The issue that we flew the mixed crews is now discussed. That is astronauts of NASA on one continue to fly by the Union ships, and ours will fly including by the ships of NASA" — he has told. According to Vlasov, it will increase reliability of missions of the ISS in case of any delays of starts. After closing of the Space Shuttle project in 2011 the USA has lost independent access to space. Flights of the American astronauts on the International Space Station are made only by the Russian Union ships since then. It is expected that Boeings and SpaceX will make the first piloted flight up to the end 2018 or in the middle of 2019, exact terms aren't determined yet.
