Qatar studies whether it needs to attract partners in expansion of LNG capacities - RIA Novosti, 06.12.2018

VIENNA, 6 Dec — RIA Novosti. Qatar studies a question of involvement of foreign partners in the project of expansion of capacities for liquefied natural gas production (LNG) in the country, the Minister of Energy of Qatar Saad al-Kaabi told journalists. © AP Photo/Hasan Jamali Qatar announced an exit from OPEC in unsuccessful time, the expert "considers we Can not attract partners" — told al-Kaabi. "We study whether there is an additional effect of involvement of partners, there is a great interest (to the project — an edition). As soon as we solve whether partners will be able to provide additional economic effect, we will announce it" — he noted. Earlier on Monday the minister declared that Qatar since January 1 leaves OPEC in connection with desire to focus on gas production and increase in LNG production. Earlier Qatar declared that by 2024 it is going to increase LNG production from 77 million to 110 million tons per year, having put into operation four new production lines at the expense of financial resources of Qatar Petroleum.
