Pakistan has suggested to help India with mitigation of consequences of a monsoon in Kerala - RIA Novosti, 8/24/2018


NEW DELHI, 24 Aug — RIA Novosti. The new prime minister of Pakistan has expressed readiness to provide humanitarian aid to the southern Indian state of Kerala which was injured for the last several weeks from the strongest monsoonal rains and floods provoked by them and landslides.© of AFP 2018/Manjunath Kiran India won't ask for help of other countries in restoration of the State of Kerala "on behalf of the people of Pakistan we send our prayers and the best regards to those who have suffered from floods in Indian to Kerala. We are ready to provide any humanitarian aid which can be required" — Khan in the account in Twitter has written. The khan has been elected the prime minister of Pakistan following the results of vote which has taken place on August 17 in National assembly (the lower house of parliament) of the country. The candidate of the 65-year-old politician who has become famous as the captain of the national team in cricket earlier was supported by 176 of 272 deputies. Soon after the victory of party of Khan — "Tekhrik-e-Insaf" ("The movement for justice", PTI) — at parliamentary elections, he has expressed the intention to improve the relations with New Delhi. In particular, as he spoke, "if India makes us one step towads, then we will take two steps". According to the latest data, the number of the victims to Kerala since August 8 has exceeded 400 people. The intensity of rainfall for the last several days has considerably decreased here that has allowed local authorities to concentrate efforts on restoration of the region. Medicines, drinking water and basic food are delivered by sea and to air in a seaport Kochin from where subsequently are distributed on various settlements some of which are completely flooded. The preliminary damage caused to Kerala as a result of plentiful rains and floods and landslides caused by them is estimated approximately at 200 billion rupees (about 2,9 billion dollars). At the same time on the eve of New Delhi has said that won't begin to accept the help from the foreign governments for the affected state as, according to the central government, India is ready to cope with consequences of disaster independently. By estimates of local authorities, in the current year the region has faced the most destructive monsoon for the last 100 years. The rainy season proceeds in India, as a rule, until the end of September.
