Alcohol stopped being fashionable among youth, scientists - RIA Novosti, 10.10.2018 say

MOSCOW, 10 Oct – RIA Novosti. More and more young people not only do not take strong drinks, but also never tried them that speaks about fading of fashion for alcohol, the British scientists in article published in the WHO BMC Public Health.© Fotolia/pablobenii magazine say: teenagers in Europe and the CIS countries began to drink less "Increase in number of the young people refusing to drink says that the similar form of behavior became more "fashionable" and admissible among youth whereas periodic wine parties and zapoyny alcoholism, on the contrary, stopped being popular and "normal" for them" — Linda Fet (Linda Fat) from Department of epidemiology and public health of London (Great Britain) said. In recent years in society two stereotypes contradicting each other became stronger. The first says that teenagers very much early mature today and begin to take alcoholic drinks and to be sexually active even before release from school. The second demonstrates that the youth, on the contrary, matures today very late and lives with parents and has no work up to 25-30 years. On the other hand, the last researches of psychologists draw an opposite picture – for example, the American scientists found last year that the modern youth was less dismissed and more modest, than their parents from "generation of Pepsi" and their grandfather and the great-grandfather from generation of "men of the sixties". Fet and her colleagues confirmed that something similar is observed also among the European youth, watching life about ten thousand teenagers aged from 16 up to 24 years participating in the monitoring HSE project from 2005 to 2015. © RIA Novosti / Alexey Kudenko to Pass into an image bank Scientists opened the reason of high mortality of men in Rossiiucheny interested how the ratio of the drinking and teetotal young people in process of increase in their age, quantity drunk and the culture of alcohol intake and also many other things connected with addictions changed. These observations opened unusual and extremely unexpected trends. Contrary to expectations of scientists, the number of teetotal teenagers not only did not decrease, but also considerably grew up for the last ten years. For example, now about 50% of the British girls and guys take alcoholic drinks less often than once a week whereas 10 years ago this indicator was equal to only 35%. The same way the number of absolute nondrinkers grew up – their share in this age category grew from 18% to 29%. As note scientific, similar changes were especially characteristic of the teenagers who are not suffering from other addictions and living in successful families. Nevertheless, they managed to record the similar changes though which were less expressed also among youth in risk groups. © Fotolia/Syda Productions Scientists opened communication between mentality of the nation and an alkogolizmomanalogichny image also the culture of alcohol intake changed – the number of the teenagers falling into hard drinkings and also a share of the youth which is periodically drinking large numbers of alcohol sharply decreased.
